TOGAF - Application Architecture Reference Model

To begin, the first of three (1 of 3) reference models Aligning ITM with TOGAF depicts the eight (8) Application Platforms associated with the TOGAF Application Architecture Reference Model and the Logical Applications within each Platform.

To illustrate, Application Platforms and Logical Applications are represented by the groupings, or boxes, depicted in the diagram below.  For the most part, the platforms and logical applications may apply to any organization.  Although, some may be known locally by other names.

Colored objects within the Logical Applications represent Physical Applications, which are unique to each organization.  Of course, the same Solution, such as SAP or PeopleSoft E1 in the diagram, may appear in multiple Logical Applications, corresponding to their functionalities available and in use.
